COVID Update December 2021
Following the latest Welsh Government advice today (22 Dec 2021), this page will shortly be updated.
In line with the Welsh Government regulations, audiences (18years and over) attending performances at the Congress Theatre from 15 November 2021 will be required to show a Covid Pass.
A COVID Pass is available if you have been double vaccinated or if you register a negative lateral flow test in the 24 hours prior to your theatre visit.
Lateral flow tests are available for free from many pharmacies or can be ordered from the NHS online. Just show us the official NHS email or text message confirming your negative result, along with your passport or driving license. Please don’t bring your physical lateral flow test stick with you – you must upload the result and show us confirmation to gain entry.
You can get your Covid Pass and more information from the Welsh Government website
If you are unable to use the digital Covid Pass then you can request a paper version by phoning 0300 3035667 between 9am and 5pm 7 days a week. These can take up to 10 days to arrive so make sure you order yours in plenty of time.
There may be additional checks and procedures to complete, so please leave plenty of time for your arrival as your COVID Pass will need to be shown to gain entry to the venue. This can be a digital or paper version (Please note we cannot accept Vaccination cards, we will only accept NHS Covid Passes and official vaccination certificates as proof of your vaccinated status.)
PLEASE DO NOT VISIT US IF YOU...
- Feel unwell with any of the identified Covid-19 symptoms.
- Have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days
- Have been identified as a close contact of a positive case and asked to self-isolate by Test, Trace, Protect
If you cannot attend a performance due to any of the above reasons, please contact us via email or phone by 10am on the day of the performance and we will refund, credit or exchange your tickets so you can return when it is safe to do so.
The Congress Theatre is a cashless venue, everything will need to be paid for by card. If this is an issue, please speak to the box office on entry.
We have implemented enhanced cleaning schedules to keep everyone as safe as possible and use fogging machines to sanitise surfaces, seating and contact points.
Hand sanitising stations are prominently located throughout the building. Please use them when arriving and leaving the venue, and as you wish throughout your visit.
WEARING FACE COVERINGS
Face coverings must be worn at all times for anyone aged 11+ (unless you are medically exempt).
There is no legal requirement as of 7 August 2021 to distance yourselves 2m from others, but we would encourage you to keep your distance as much as possible to avoid transmission of the virus.
Our bar will reopen from 31 August 2021, and we are delighted to resume this service. Please be reminded that masks are required whilst standing, so do not consume food or drink whilst standing and take all refreshments to your seat.
Only one person / household bubble can be permitted in the passenger lift at any time.
Unfortunately, this will potentially create long queues, so please allow plenty of time if you have accessibility issues
